This Berkshire rural country pub was taken over back in March 2005 by Mike and Katie Robinson. It underwent some refurbishment to improve the kitchen facilities and to increase dining capacity. We now seat around 45 in informal and cosy surroundings. We have tried to maintain the historic atmosphere of the pub, which was part of the local brick works and originally opened to satisfy the thirst of the workers. Housing bricks for Frilsham and the surrounding villages were fired with clay dug from the fields in front of the pub. Children are welcome in the restaurant and garden as are dogs (only bar and garden). We have our own pub dog Sassy who is very sociable and gets on well with everyone. There is a varied wine list which ranges from a selection of very decent, but reasonably priced, house wines up to the more expensive selection for those who wish to splash out. We also serve a range of award winning real ales from West Berkshire Brewery. Since opening, we have won numerous awards and been the subject of a popular 12 episode TV programme (”Heavens Kitchen”) followed by a number of sequels.  Throughout this website most pictures can be enlarged by clicking or hovering your mouse over them - try hovering over the distant view of the pub on the left to give you some idea of why the PK is so special. Rural tranquility “if you are searching for Heaven on Earth, look no further than this beautiful corner of rural England and in the midst of this country setting is the kind of English country pub of which dreams are made” Magnificent views web by Alan Robinson Request a table See what is said about us!
